Hello, beautiful soul! I’m Shawnte’ your holistic practitioner and the heart behind Daughter of Ra Apothecary.

My love for herbalism was planted early in my Granny’s garden, barefoot and wide-eyed, where the air was thick with the scent of rosemary and morning songs. Every day, we’d step out into our little Eden. Granny would talk to the plants like old friends, and I listened closely, soaking in every word about the temperament of each herb, the soul of the soil, and the sacred dance between nature and nurture.

We spent our mornings in that garden and our afternoons in her sun room and kitchen the true alchemy labs of my childhood. There, we dried herbs, canned fresh fruit, brewed tinctures, bitters, and lovingly prepared healing meals for the family.

In our home, treating colds, fevers, or everyday ailments with plants and natural remedies wasn’t a trend it was just life. The words “holistic” or “herbalist” were never said out loud. They didn’t need to be. It was simply how granny did it; and how her granny did it, as well as her granny before her that brought these healing traditions from Central Africa to the western world, an unbroken lineage of wisdom passed down from hand to heart.

Today, I am deeply honored to carry the torch, to answer the ancestral call and share this sacred knowledge with my community, just as Granny did. I believe with all my heart that healing begins when we are empowered with knowledge, rooted in tradition, and surrounded by nurturing energy, both within and around us.

I’m humbly grateful to walk this path in service to you and your family. Thank you for letting me into your healing journey. I truly believe our paths crossed for a divine reason.

Every product we offer is organic, plant based, and gluten free. We work exclusively with clean ingredients, free from unnecessary fillers, additives, or shortcuts. What you place on your body and into your system matters, and we honor that responsibility with intention and care.

Each custom herbal blend is handmade in small batches. From formulation to packaging, every order is handled with presence, prayer, and purpose. This is slow medicine, crafted with attention, not mass produced.

Our sourcing is deeply personal. I travel internationally to work directly with farmers, growers, and indigenous communities who steward their land with respect and ancestral knowledge.

Our raw shea butter is sourced from Northern Ghana, where women have passed down traditional methods of harvesting and preparation for generations.

Our crystals are ethically sourced from India, Madagascar, and Mexico, chosen for their quality, origin, and energetic integrity.

Our sacred smudging bundles come directly from an indigenous group in Mexico, honoring cultural tradition and sustainable harvesting practices.

Our sea moss is sourced from the warm waters of St Lucia, working directly with the farmer to bring you some of the most organic and mineral rich sea moss available.
